Montana State University Northern provides comprehensive education opportunities in north-central Montana.

Service Activities

In this position, you will support the Teachers of Promise Pathways (TOPP) initiative in an effort to help more high school students explore options for obtaining teaching degrees. This position will involve frequent regional travel as you coordinate with the TOPP director to develop relationships with high school administrators, counselors, teachers, parents, and students. You will also help to develop a program to connect participating students with mentors in order to provide them support while completing high school and transitioning to college.

Community Need Addressed

Assist and support a conduit pathway for sophomores, juniors, and seniors to develop a pathway into an educator preparation program (EPP) in their local regions.

Position Outcomes

Support the implementation of the TOPP project in its second year of operation. Develop working relationships with K-12 and higher education partners. Propose project improvements.
