Description

The Faithful Fools Street Ministry was founded in 1998 as an educational and charitable organization. The Faithful Fools was created to establish a community of people who address the policies, attitudes, and lack of knowledge that perpetuate homelessness and poverty not just locally in San Francisco, but nationally and globally. Faithful Fools establishes relationships with people who are homeless or living in poverty, as well as those with homes and economic wealth. Through the arts, education, advocacy, and accompaniment, they work to build community by breaking through boundaries that separate people. These boundaries include economic power, religious beliefs, class, race, gender, ethnicity, and mental illness. A volunteer will serve as a member of the hospitality team, support the Street Ministry Retreats, accompany individuals who seek housing and supportive services, and help organize major events at the center.
