  • Education & Youth

The Massachusetts Promise Fellowship believes that all young people in the Commonwealth have a right to the resources that they need to be successful in life, including a caring adult, a safe place, a healthy start, an effective education, and an opportunity to serve. We deliver these 5 promises to youth by training emerging leaders who commit one year of service to support and provide these needed resources to youth throughout the Commonwealth. Read More

  • About Us
Currently in its nineteenth year, the Massachusetts Promise Fellowship places AmeriCorps Fellows who commit to a year of service at non-profit organizations, schools, and city agencies across Massachusetts to create, lead, and manage Out-of-School Time programs for youth in grades 6-12 focused on academic enrichment and college and career readiness. Fellows convene monthly for training and and team building and receive over 170 hours of professional development on leadership, social justice, youth development, and non-profit management. Through our unique partnership with Northeastern University, Fellows have the opportunity to pursue free undergraduate and graduate-level courses at the University's College of Professional Studies during their year of service.
  • Our Impact
Each year, the Fellowship serves 3,000 young people across the Commonwealth in Out-of-School Time programs. AmeriCorps Fellows lead these programs and are focused on utilizing academic enrichment and college and career readiness vehicles to increase academic engagement and to ultimately support high school graduation. Fellows increase the capacity of their organizations by providing additional supports and services. Annually, 25% of our Fellows are hired by their host sites following their year of service.
