A challenge I’ve faced in my service year is…

Flexibility! Things in the world of conservation change at a moments notice. Not being able to do our full chainsaw training due to snow days and having our first real project, and 10 day hitch, canceled because of a government shutdown... it can be extremely frustrating to constantly have to fall back to plan b. In these first 2 weeks of service it seems if something can go wrong, it definitely will. These challenges have made our crew stronger. We depend on each other as it seems we are the only thing that is dependable.
