Description

Through MCC’s Maine Partnership for Environmental Stewardship (MPES) Initiative, Minimum-Time AmeriCorps Members will help raise awareness about energy efficiency methods, recruit participants for Energy Education events, promote MPES and Green Certification Audits in communities, and connect participants with energy conservation resources. Through community partnerships focused on reducing energy and light weatherization services, MPES AmeriCorps Energy Efficiency Organizers will help increase energy efficiency and cost savings for economically disadvantaged populations, community organizations and non-profit higher educational institutions.

Education Requirements

Less than High School Completed

Desired Certifications or Qualifications

o Prior experience/knowledge of community partners in the area
o Experience with environmental stewardship or energy efficiency initiatives
o Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable speaking in public
o Self-motivated and works well independently
o Volunteer management and event planning experience

Desired Languages

English, Arabic, French
