A Program Associate (PA) for the Outreach Team supports a broad-based movement for change that positively affects the lives of immigrants and refugees and the communities in which they live. The Outreach team mobilizes constituents and those who are interested in protecting, embracing, and empowering immigrants and refugees. This role is to implement program opportunities for engagement and help the constituent network (volunteers, ambassadors, colleges/universities, young adults, congregations, pastors etc.) build and advance their understanding of the mission and work of LIRS.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Promote opportunities to bolster impact, advocacy, and fundraising goals through a national grassroots mobilization strategy for individuals, groups, institutions, volunteers, and communities.
- Support a network of LIRS supporters throughout the US (individuals, congregations, schools, seminaries, universities) through a national grassroots mobilization strategy.
- Assist in cultivating, growing, and retaining exemplary national leaders that will form the constituent network of supporters of LIRS’ mission.
- Help to educate external constituents on the mission and work of LIRS through both emergency and annual campaigns. Assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating programs designed to achieve specific organizational learning objectives to produce timely, relevant, and engaging learning modules and resources.

Review and format supplemental resources created by national partners. Occasionally implement special formation projects (Ex. the annual World Refugee Day video)
- Conduct listening sessions and needs assessments to identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed. Stay abreast of research and best practices in national grassroots organizing and mobilization work, and pushes LIRS to consider innovative ideas to improve.
- Maintain updated the participation database and record information in Salesforce.
- Issue certificates of participation or completion for participants and review post-formation evaluations for future planning purposes.
- Assist in marketing available opportunities providing necessary information in a timely fashion.
- Other duties as assigned
