Description

Lutheran Volunteer Corps is a full-time service and leadership program operating in cities across the U.S. Our mission: to unite people to work for peace with justice. We do this by placing approximately 50 Volunteers in full-time positions at social justice organizations. Year Volunteers live together in intentional community, practicing simple and sustainable living, while exploring spirituality. LVC offers housing for yearlong service, modest stipend, health insurance, and paid vacation time.

This position: Full-time Program Fellow to support with the implementation of our bystander intervention, Safe Bar Collective, Rethinking Masculinity, and transformative justice programming. Our work centers marginalized women and LGTBQ people of color, focusing on anti-carceral solutions that address state and interpersonal violence and provide resources to individuals who face systemic discrimination. Our programs span across different sectors with various organizations, government entities, businesses, and community groups who want to train their staff or membership on techniques to identify and address gendered harassment.

The Program Fellow will lead workshops logistics and coordination, support the overall communications and social media strategy, and provide leadership to the organization’s volunteer cohort. The Program Fellow will primarily support with fielding workshop requests, handling logistics for workshops and events, curating social media and blog content, and facilitating meetings and workshops. The Fellow should hold or be working towards values that center the historically marginalized, and demonstrate a commitment to actively working against systems that have caused harm. The Fellow will report to and work closely with the Executive Director.
