Description

Lutheran Volunteer Corps is a full-time service and leadership program operating in cities across the U.S. Our mission: to unite people to work for peace with justice. We do this by placing approximately 50 Volunteers in full-time positions at social justice organizations. Year Volunteers live together in intentional community, practicing simple and sustainable living, while exploring spirituality. LVC offers housing for yearlong service, modest stipend, health insurance, and paid vacation time.

This position: This position through the Sabo Center for Democracy and Citizenship will build capacity for Augsburg’s place-based work focused on Health and Wellness to move forward with a collaborative, collective impact approach. Supporting Augsburg in being a “back-bone” organization to convene stakeholders and support sustained action, this position will serve as both program staff and project lead in identifying areas for collective action. In addition to supporting outcome-based partnerships around Health and Wellness, this position will support The Campus Kitchen program in current and emerging food justice initiatives that connect with the place-based work. This includes working with Sabo Center staff, Augsburg students, and community partners to increase food access, reduce food waste, and promote sustainability and food justice on campus and with community partners.
