Description
Lutheran Volunteer Corps is a full-time service and leadership program operating in cities across the U.S. Our mission: to unite people to work for peace with justice. We do this by placing approximately 50 Volunteers in full-time positions at social justice organizations. Year Volunteers live together in intentional community, practicing simple and sustainable living, while exploring spirituality. LVC offers housing for yearlong service, modest stipend, health insurance, and paid vacation time.
This position: Wildfire Ministry is a collaboration among 8 ELCA congregations in the Northwest suburbs of Minneapolis. We are engaging in new and exciting ways to be in more effective relationship with our surrounding communities, and one way that has arisen is the hiring of a community organizer for 2020.
The Wildfire Associate Organizer will support the work of the Wildfire organizer by continuing to build and connect with a network of leaders, aiding in planning and implementing events and supporting advocacy and direct action opportunities. In their role they will be trained in the skills and methodologies of organizing and will relate to all 8 congregations in the Northwest suburbs.
