Description

Lutheran Volunteer Corps is a full-time service and leadership program operating in cities across the U.S. Our mission: to unite people to work for peace with justice. We do this by placing approximately 50 Volunteers in full-time positions at social justice organizations. Year Volunteers live together in intentional community, practicing simple and sustainable living, while exploring spirituality. LVC offers housing for yearlong service, modest stipend, health insurance, and paid vacation time.

The Coordinator will work in ComMUSICation’s music youth programs on building relationships with community partners, program participants, and their families. ComMUSICation’s programs include an intensive middle school choir program, a number of partner programs offered through schools and other community partners, and a high school choir program expected to launch in the fall of 2023. All programming is managed by our Music & Program Director. The coordinator will be responsible for assisting the director with program planning, logistics and communications, as well as working directly with our High School intern program and supporting community outreach. The position reports to the Music & Program Director.

Fellows gain experience working with diverse youth, using music-making and community building to support youth's development of socio-emotional and leadership skills.
