Description

The Youth Development and Outreach Specialist will work with youth, volunteers, community partners, and professionals to plan, implement and evaluate a series of educational programs and experiences that work toward multiple life skill outcomes. (Productive Citizens, Outstanding Communicators, Effective Leaders, and Successful Learners.) This member will work in a team environment with the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach program and staff to facilitate and develop curricula/programs based on the specific needs of their county and communities served. Depending on the site, this member may facilitate a number of existing curricula like Soccer for Success, Clover Kids, AgOvation, FLEx Forward Learning Experience, Gardening to Give, On Their Own and Okay, Mindful Teen, StoryWalk, AstroCamp, and many more. The member will also be responsible for developing their own program as well as recruiting volunteers for activities in STEM, Leadership and Civic Engagement, Communication and the Arts, Healthy Living, and Environmental Education.
