NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI works to educate, advocate, listen and lead to improve the lives of people with mental illness and their loved ones. NAMI Southwest Iowa, one of Iowa’s newest affiliates of NAMI and NAMI Iowa, serves nine counties in Southwest Iowa. The organization is seeking an AmeriCorps VISTA member to assist with volunteer and fundraising capacity projects. NAMI Southwest Iowa envisions a world where all people affected by mental illness live healthy, fulfilling lives supported by a community that cares. This vision includes expanding volunteer leadership capacity of programs to reach all nine counties of our service area while increasing fundraising capacity to sustain those programs.
