This project focuses on building the capacity of Home Forward Iowa (HFI), Iowa’s only non-profit services and housing advocacy organization on behalf of all Iowans experiencing homelessness. Goals include developing a sustainable business model based on private funding that will allow HFI to move away from heavy dependence on federal funding to one based on support by Iowa individuals, corporations, foundations and communities whose goals are consistent with reducing homelessness throughout the state. Other goals include expanding participation in the regionally-based homeless services/housing system and developing partnerships leading to design and implementation of a framework for changing Iowans’ perception of homelessness.
