POSITION PURPOSE:
To serve the Marion community by increasing our outreach, programming, and service capability over the busy summer months. Increase our presence in the community by attending community events. Reaching children who may not be able to attend regular library programs.

AMERICORPS TASKS & ACTIVITIES:
•Providing outreach visits to schools, daycares, parks, and daycamps
•Registering patrons for our Summer Reading Program and distributing incentives as patrons complete levels
•Answering questions about library programs and resources including books, movies, and databases
•Planning and facilitating events for children and their families including story times, special Summer Reading Program events
•Attending community events and promoting Marion Public Library’s programs and resources
•Collecting data from outreach sites and in-house library programs
•Improving our service to patrons by maintaining our children’s area including reshelving materials and picking up toys

$1250 - $1250 monthly
