The Corporate Partner Program specializes in the management of customized corporate volunteer projects that address a business's philanthropic focus. From Nashville-based companies to inbound conference groups, HON’s Corporate Partner Program works to connect community-minded businesses with opportunities to give back.

Orientation, volunteer management, project management, and technical skills training will be provided. AmeriCorps Member will receive additional life skills, educational enrichment, and professional development training opportunities, including: 1) Membership in Nashville's Center for Nonprofit Management’s Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (if elected); 2) Quarterly AmeriCorps social networking sessions; and 3) Regularly scheduled Hands On Nashville staff and supervisor meetings. The successful candidate will report directly to Hands On Nashville's Corporate Partner Program Senior Manager. A criminal history background check is required for this position.

Service Activities

HON recognizes the opportunity to maximize the use of corporate volunteers to benefit the needs of Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) and partnering organizations. The Corporate Partner Program AmeriCorps Member will support this endeavor by developing, planning, and implementing projects that maximize the impact of corporate volunteerism.

Service activities include: representing HON to businesses and partner organizations; general project preparation tasks associated with large “event-style” service opportunities; volunteer leadership and customer service during service opportunities; creating and administering needs-assessment and impact surveys; coordinating with MNPS and partner-organization leaders to create and facilitate corporate volunteer events; creating templates and content for associated communication and marketing materials; devising/implementing strategies to grow corporate volunteerism through new partnerships/increased commitments by existing corporate partners. Some evenings and weekends will be required.

Community Need Addressed

The Corporate Partner Program works with corporations of all sizes to meet pressing social needs through volunteer projects that take place at nonprofits, schools, community centers, and more. These projects build capacity for these organizations to more efficiently carry out their missions.

Position Outcomes

The AmeriCorps Member will support Hands On Nashville’s Corporate Partner Program as it works with corporations of all sizes to meet the greater Nashville area’s pressing needs – ranging from literacy and education to environmental protection and social justice – through strategic volunteerism to effectively build capacity in the community.

Corporate volunteer projects are typically “done-in-a-day” and provide immediate, but long-lasting results.

The Hands On Nashville (HON) AmeriCorps Program builds stronger communities through service. Members are instrumental in: building capacity to enhance the ability of our community partners to carry out their missions; improving public lands, streams, and greenways; offering food access through urban agriculture; supporting low-income homeowners; impacting youth education; and much more.

Skills you will gain
