Description

Our AmeriCorps members serve 1700 hours over a one-year term with different housing nonprofits throughout Kentucky. The AmeriCorps member at Lexington Fair Housing Council will help provide services to victims of housing discrimination by completing intakes and assessments, conducting landlord outreach, and providing service referrals. Lexington Fair Housing Council's mission is to end housing discrimination in Kentucky of all forms and against all persons because of race, skin color, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, and familial status. To support victims of housing discrimination, we provide advocacy and legal assistance to clients. We provide these services to clients in order to prevent the unlawful displacement of renters due to illegal housing practices carried out by their housing provider(s).
