Habitat for Humanity’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. The goal of the Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin VISTA program is to strengthen local affiliates and increase their capacity. With passion, commitment, and hard work, our VISTA members help affiliates as they bring individuals and communities out of poverty. Volunteer Program Development VISTAs help affiliates expand and strengthen their volunteer programs.

Project objectives for this position include:
1) Create a Senior Volunteer Crew for both the ReStore and builds, with 10 long-term volunteers on each crew.
2) Work with staff and volunteers to develop and document a formal Build Volunteer Program.
3) Develop a Train the Trainer Manual to use as an official guide for staff to train volunteers, both for the ReStore and builds.

Living Allowance

$1025 - $1025 monthly

Additional Benefits

This position also provides an additional $25/housing stipend, paid directly to the landlord.

Education Requirements

College Graduate

Desired Certifications or Qualifications

• A demonstrated understanding and enthusiasm for VISTA and its core mission of fighting poverty
• Available to serve in a full-time capacity for one year
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable with public speaking and presenting to large groups
• Be a self-starter and self-motivated in a team environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, email, the internet, & social media
• A positive attitude, flexibility, attention to detail, strong organizational skills and an ability to multitask.
• Cultural sensitivity and an ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and multiple age groups.
