Description

Serve, learn, lead and explore all the Connecticut has to offer! Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity excited to have the opportunity to host AmeriCorps members this year to help our affiliate to grow and prosper. Our AmeriCorps members will play an integral role in providing leadership on our project sites, engaging volunteers to become champions for our mission, and build capacity. Our members will be the ambassadors of Hartford Habitat, interacting with over 2,000 volunteers, partner families and community stakeholders. During a year of service with Hartford Habitat, AmeriCorps members will gain insight to the inner workings of a non-profit organization and gain hands-on experience in leadership, public speaking and community development. Hartford Habitat is looking for AmeriCorps members who have a strong passion for our mission and an interest in pursuing a Habitat career beyond their AmeriCorps year. AmeriCorps members will work with and learn from our construction staff, many of them AmeriCorps Alumni and strong advocates for National Service. Nestled in the middle of the state, Hartford is a great location to explore the beauty of Connecticut and is also in close proximity to both the beauty of New England to the north as well as many major East Coast cities. Join us at Hartford Habitat for a year of service, learning and adventure!
