Community Need Addressed
AmeriCorps members in AmeriCorps Youth Launch's in-school program will be able to provide services to high barrier upper elementary and middle school youth who need extra individualized attention. AmeriCorps members will create an individual plan for success for each high barrier youth they are serving and strive to build developmental assets and meet individual goals with each youth through academic assistance, enrichment activities, and service-learning opportunities.
Position Outcomes
Youth served will show an increased possession of Developmental Assets, an improved perspective of school climate, increased school engagement, improved academic motivation, higher aspirations for their future, and an increased likelihood of high school graduation. The long-term goal of these positions will be that members will increase the likelihood that the students they serve will grow up to be engaged citizens/successful adults and live rewarding lives.
