The AmeriCorps Program Facilitator is responsible for program delivery, chaperoning participants during assigned sessions, and assisting with station rotation and other girl involved activities. This person will share in the implementation and coordination of high-quality programming that meets the goals and objectives of GSNETX Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) programs at the STEM Center of Excellence.
Service Activities
•Facilitates activities and programs which promote the Girl Scout Leadership Experience STEM, life skills, entrepreneurship, and indoor/outdoor activities program delivery.
•Assists with hands-on activities such as STEM (i.e., robotics, coding, environmental science, and science experiments), financial literacy, and life skills.
•Ensures compliance with GSUSA risk management practices and other governance authorities for all programs.
•Assists with groups of girls according to the GSUSA outlined adult/child ratios.
•Serves as and is responsible for being a role model for participants in behavior and attitude while following the Girl Scout Promise and Law and program procedures
•Assists with facilitating activities enthusiastically such as songs, games, crafts, science experiments, etc.
•Recognizes and responds to opportunities for problem-solving within assigned groups of girls.
•Helps to provide opportunities for all girls to experience personal and group success.
•Assists with pre-event support, including but not limited to check-in, check-out, attendance, pre and post survey administration, supply coordination, set-up, etc.
•Ensures that girls understand and follow safety and educational procedures.
•Research, collect and communicate examples of high-quality programming. Creates, edits, and updates the curriculum as necessary to provide curriculum tools and create a model for others.
•Assists in the care of the physical facilities and equipment.
•May work extended days to provide programming in alignment with overnight camping and evening activities, as approved by the supervisor.
•Assists with training and oversight of short-term volunteers, which can include corporate group volunteers or individuals that volunteer at workshops/day camps, field trips, camp cleanup days, and related facility needs.
