Description

On any given day in Cook County, one in eight individuals struggles with food insecurity – due to COVID-19 this number is even higher. To help alleviate hunger, the Food Depository works with over 700 community partners to provide nutritious food all year round to our neighbors. Of those 700 partners, about 450 are food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, group homes and mobile programs, or “traditional” food access programs. The purpose of this position is to offer on the ground services to local community pantries, operating at a priority host pantry as a satellite Hunger Action Corps member. They will be supported by a staff member at the host pantry, the Food Access Supervisor, and the AmeriCorps Program Supervisor.
