2022 Project R.O.A.R. Member

Project R.O.A.R. members are stationed one- two members per Florida Park Service district, working closely with the Park Program Development Specialist. These members spend the year developing interpretive materials, hosting events at parks within their district (some virtual dependent on Covid-19), and participating in tabling opportunities. Project R.O.A.R. members are the educators for environmental stewardship, and help foster the service related mindset.

Service Activities

Regional Volunteer Recruitment
- using park platforms and resources to bring in volunteers for workdays and events

Recruitment and Outreach Projects
- Junior Ranger program
- Park events
- Creation of virtual programs and recruiting virtually

Volunteer Recruitment and Outreach Assistance
- help match volunteers to other FLCC project areas T.R.E.C. and A.N.T.

Coordination with FLCC Staff on Special Projects and Initiatives

Community Need Addressed

Offering interpretive services and community programs to educate and spread awareness for environmental stewardship. Creating educative material to make the community aware of our Florida State Parks protected natural envirionments, and the recreational activities offered on these preserved and restored lands.

Housing is not provided at all locations, but a select few. Three of the districts are hosting two R.O.A.R. members. District 1, District 2, and District 4. A map of locations will be provided.
