Description
Community Change Inc. (CCI)’s mission since 1968 has been to promote racial justice and equity by challenging systemic racism and acting as a catalyst for anti-racist learning and action. CCI accomplishes this by working with a multiracial coalition as well as by supporting new and emerging anti-racist projects in Boston such as Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ), White People Challenging Racism (WPCR) and the Boston Knapsack Anti-Racism Group. CCI also sponsors the Anti-Racism Organizing in the Suburbs (AROS) project, which is based both in the Greater Boston area and Northern New England, as well as the Racial Healing Project, which is a cohort, module-based program for advanced anti-racism practitioners. CCI is believed to be one of the oldest, continuously, running anti-racism organizations in the United States.
The Program Assistant Fellow will support the work of CCI’s program partners, including getting involved in local actions if called upon, and serve as a liaison between the programs and CCI. The fellow will also work closely with the AROS project, including assisting in a regional anti-racism mapping project. Fellows may also have opportunities to support CCI’s direct anti-racism programming, such as its monthly Watering Hole facilitated conversation, and create one-off programming based on their own interests.
This placement is available through our Boston-area program, Life Together.
