Corps Leader

Earth Conservation Corps

* Taking initiative, being a leader and role model.

* Leading youth, volunteers and community partners in environmental service.

* Participating in service projects (trash trap, wetland restoration, raptor rehabilitation).

* Educating youth, volunteers and community partners in Environmental Education and River Restoration and all other duties assigned.

* Implement community outreach plan with ECC Community Outreach Coordinator.

* Attend meetings, events, projects to promote the Earth Conservation Corps and help set up, clean up or work for meetings at the ECC facilities.

* Coordinate special events in collaboration with ECC Community Outreach Coordinator and management.

* Ability to work with various hand/garden tools (some power tools).

* Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time.

* Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Service Activities

* Participating in service projects (trash trap, wetland restoration, raptor rehabilitation).

Community Need Addressed

Although much progress has been made, the Anacostia River remains polluted. The wetlands at Turtle beach are in need of continued restoration.
