Flint Community Schools Corps members provide direct service to students and families through the Community Education Initiative. The Education Coordinator position is a full-time role bringing during and after school educational programming - specifically tutoring and college positive mentoring - to Community Schools as a means to ensure that students are successfully completing each grade, graduating from 12th grade on time, and are prepared for a post-secondary option. Members will also support community partner events for students, families, and neighborhood residents on campuses. These events and activities will provide opportunities for programming & services such as basic needs, health, technology. Members are provided with extensive training and serve alongside teachers, school administrators, and other National Service members to implement academic enrichment programs.
