he Community Resource Developer focuses on community partnerships, volunteer engagement, and developing resources for the community education initiative. Partnerships: -Build up existing partnerships between community organizations and Flint Community Schools (FCS)- Create new partnerships between nonprofit organizations, local businesses, social services and FCS - Create a succession packet including all information of new and existing partners Volunteers: - Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to serve with community education in FCS - Partner to develop at least one day of service event - Collaborate with other members to implement other fun, safe, quality and educational programming and activities that support students and help meet the goals of the community education initiative - Build materials and resource for the community education initiative.

Service Activities

VISTAs build resources, engage volunteers, support families, and collaborate with community partners. VISTA members ultimately address the root problems of underachievement, improve student academic performance (with a focus in literacy) and school attendance, and reduce student disciplinary incidents.
