The Grants Program Development Associate VISTA will expand the capacity of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Luis Valley both broadly in tracking, reporting and maintaining compliance with grants and specifically with a grant by Generation Wild to connect young people with outdoor opportunities.

Service Activities

1. Resource Development and Grant Tracking2. Keep relevant staff informed specifically about upcoming grant deadlines and deliverables, thereby ensuring smooth completion of work responsibilities 3. Support the Outdoor Activities Program through planning & coordination of program logistics 4. Coordination, marketing and reporting for Outdoor Activities Program

Community Need Addressed

The BGCSLV’s year-round youth development programs are strategically designed to instill a sense of belonging, usefulness, influence, competence and knowledge as a result of members’ participation in Club activities. The Club’s key program areas focus on Academic Success, Good Character and Leadership, and Healthy Eating & Active Learning which wrap protective factors around our most at-risk population and build the 21st Century skills that are needed to be successful members of the community.

Increased financial capacity of the organization, increased systems built to sustainably track funding sources, increased marketing and data on the effects of the Outdoor Activities program
