Community Resource Center's mission is to create opportunities, tools and strategies to develop nonprofits and community groups to strengthen Colorado.
Are you interested in National Service? Would you like to make a difference in one of Colorado’s many vibrant communities? Are you looking for an opportunity to gain hands on experience in the nonprofit sector and build skills to further your professional and/or educational goals? More than 5,100 nonprofit organizations operate within rural Colorado. These organizations play an important role in improving the quality of life in Colorado’s communities and provide services that alleviate poverty, addressing everything from transitional housing to early childhood education to strengthening local food systems. In order to build the capacity of rural nonprofits to more effectively address key factors that influence poverty in our state’s communities and further mission impact, CRC provides a limited number of AmeriCorps VISTA members to our rural nonprofit partners across the state. Our AmeriCorps VISTA program provides national service members who deliver indirect services to build the organizational, administrative and financial capacity of nonprofit organizations. Program Goals: - Grow Organizational Capacity: Nonprofits and community groups in rural Colorado grow in organizational capacity and gain additional resources to accomplish their missions. - Provide Professional Development: VISTA members have a positive experience during which they increase in ability and gain valuable insight for future studies and employment. - Alleviate Poverty: Persistent poverty in rural Colorado is reduced
