Description

This position is a partnership between Confluence Environmental Center, AmeriCorps Program and Trash for Peace. This position will build on the successes of previous AmeriCorps Members, with the goal of educating youth and community members about sustainability through hands-on learning and real-world experiences. This position will help to implement, improve, and expand Trash for Peace’s Sustainability Education Program; a dynamic, weekly program that is hosted on affordable housing communities throughout Multnomah County. It requires a love of serving with youth and families in a community setting, as well as the ability to recruit and manage volunteers. All the programming takes place within multicultural, low-income, diverse housing communities. The person in this position will strive to integrate sustainability concepts in practical, relational, and hands-on ways in order to support the development of more resilient communities.
