Description

This position is a partnership between the Confluence Environmental Center - AmeriCorps Program, Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods and Green King. This position is designed to support NECN operations and programming by leading community engagement opportunities with the M.L. King Jr. K-5 school and the King neighborhood. This will include: coordinating with Architects Without Borders, M.I.G., Portland Parks & Recreation, Portland Public Schools, and various stakeholders and leading the community engagement process, strengthening existing relationships and developing new ones in one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Portland. (30 %) The Member will help to refine programs, projects, and events to meet sustainable volunteer and leadership goals and develop effective outreach programs that promote volunteer recruitment, placement, and training as well as, tracking goals and refining organizational systems (30%). The Member will coordinate outreach events and expand volunteer participation while creating a sustainable plan for maintenance (20 %). This position will build off the success of a previous AmeriCorps Member.

The Member will participate in Confluence led leadership development activities which include: Leadership Development Program, Change Agent Project, team meetings, National Service events and other self-directed development opportunities (20%).
