To surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

  • About Us
Our organization is part of the nation’s largest dropout prevention program providing school-based integrated student supports to children and youth most at risk of school failure. Our model ensures a comprehensive school based approach which identifies needs and leverages community resources to ensure positive impact. Students deserve access to resources and supports to address individual and systemic barriers to staying in school and achieving success. Through school-based coordination, CIS connects students and their families to critical community resources, tailored to local needs. By bringing community resources into the schools to address children’s unmet needs we provide the link between educators and the community. CIS helps kids overcome challenges both inside and outside the classroom so they can do their best in school. Children cannot learn at their potential when they are in crisis or face significant non-academic needs. These are the kids who are most likely to fall behind and once behind, often drop out. Most students who drop out of school are dealing with multiple problems that present barriers to their education. We focus on meeting these core needs. We work closely with local school districts, social service organizations and businesses to connect schools with the resources that facilitate academic success and the development of important life skills. CIS makes a difference for children in the schools it serves.
