Description
Are you looking for a meaningful summer experience that also helps pay the bills? Serving in the summer months, CitySquare AmeriCorps members tackle childhood hunger and the summer learning gap in one of two programs: CitySquare’s Food on the Move mobile meals program for kids, and educational summer enrichment programs with one of 17 community partners.
Members serving with Food on the Move serve from May 30-August 11, 2017. Members will travel around the Dallas-Fort Worth area to provide a free, nutritious meal and fun summer activities to children in their apartment communities. Applicants must be energetic, able to serve outside in the Texas heat, and have an interest in working with children in diverse settings. Preference will be given to applicants 21 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license.
Members serve 30-40 hours per week over the summer. For these service hours, members receive a living allowance starting at $1,800 for the entire summer (broken down and paid in biweekly installments) and a minimum $1,222 education award (contingent upon successful completion of term). CitySquare AmeriCorps does not provide housing assistance to its members.
AmeriCorps is not a job, it’s a chance to really make a difference in the community. Don’t miss this opportunity to make your world better!
