  • Our Impact
Exciting, challenging, rewarding—there is no one word to describe participating in a Conservation Corps New Mexico Program. You’ll learn, but it will probably take sweat. You’ll complete great service projects, but it won’t always be easy. You’ll meet some great people, but you won’t always see eye-to-eye. It’s about learning, working hard for the environment and our communities, and giving something back. We’re glad you’re interested in joining us!

Conservation Corps New Mexico

CCNM crews sign on for an entire AmeriCorps term, generally 4 to 6 months. In most situations the schedule is 8 days on and 6 days off which means that crews will go out into the field for 8 days in a row, living as a crew and camping near to the worksite, and will then have 6 days off during which members are responsible for their own food and lodging, and are free to travel and explore the Southwest. Crews will always start and end their hitches from the office based in Las Cruces NM. Projects on a CCNM crew vary widely but most often are based in trail work, invasive species removal, planting native plants, fence repair removal or installation, or more.
