To protect and conserve natural areas to enrich and engage current and future generations

  • About Us
Established in 1978, Bur Oak Land Trust is a non-profit land trust which accepts donations of land from property owners who want their natural areas to be in the public trust, available for present and future generations. The Trust’s conservation options include arranging and holding conservation easements, facilitating the transfers of land from private to public ownership, and advising land owners on donation, sale, and conservation of their land. The Trust currently maintains and preserves eleven local natural areas for the enjoyment and education of the public, and holds 14 conservation easements.
  • Our Impact
Bur Oak Land Trust owns 478 acres of natural land over 11 properties, including prairie, oak, hickory, savanna, wetlands, and woodlands. All of the properties are actively managed, and are open to the public for a variety of outdoor activities. In addition to the value our land stewardship provides for the surrounding population, we also provide conservation education opportunities and events for all residents to enjoy.
