Arkansas GardenCorps Program Specialist - VISTA

The Arkansas GardenCorps Program Specialist will spend their service helping to build capacity and increase the program’s ability to serve its stakeholders in developing and maintaining gardens, conducting garden-based nutrition education, and building volunteer and community support for sustainability of gardens.

Service Activities

• Develop and execute a program plan
• Develop Service Site and Service Member applications
• Manage Service Site and Service Member recruitment
• Advise those interested in the application process
• Manage communications and outreach
• Manage and develop content for social media platforms and website

Community Need Addressed

This position will handle the transition of the Arkansas GardenCorps program to a new host organization so that families can continue to benefit from the increased access to fresh fruits and vegetables that the program provides.

Position Outcomes

This service will result in the readiness for a new organization to successfully prepare Arkansas GardenCorps Service Sites and Service Members to implement the program.
