Description

Serving through Connect to Success at Washington State Community College, the AmeriCorps College Guides will be placed in the following areas: Student Services/Admissions, Health Sciences, College Access, and Student Success. Each position requires specific college access and student support duties, including: advising prospective students on college options; assisting with the process of filing the FAFSA in one-on-one sessions and group workshops; identifying and promoting scholarship opportunities to qualified students; planning and presenting postsecondary education, financial aid, and academic assessment programs; assisting career exploration with traditional and adult students who are interested in postsecondary education; becoming familiar with local institutions to advise students regarding general college options; conducting campus tours; and supporting college recruitment and retention efforts.
