Food Pantry Technology Development Coordinator/Outreach

The full-time direct service AmeriCorps member serving Okanogan County Community Action Council (OCCAC)-Food and Nutrition Program will have a deep understanding in basic technologies and be able to create a basic SOP for the food pantries and will commit to understand the needs for each food pantries and their respective technology barriers. The member will also attend to F&N monthly meeting, technology strategy development meetings, on site pantries teaching and support sessions, and all other scheduled meeting and sessions by the discretion of program manager.
The coordinator will create, teach and deliver training, SOP’s and support to 9 food pantries and their respective representatives.
The coordinator will follow and outcome-tracking process to ensure follow-up with food pantries, including obtaining status of intended outcomes.
The coordinator will develop an outreach process with local high schools to identify possible volunteers for each food pantry.

Service Activities

• Set up new lap top computers with basic email, internal files, report systems, log in and links
• Ability to serve at project site location and time specified in this position description
• Develop closely with Program manager a comprehensive SOP to be used by food pantries
• Outreach to high schools in search of volunteers to utilize the developed SOP in aid of food pantries
• Provide technical support and on-site training to food pantries
• Update files, folders and reports as needed
• Administer assessments of overall literacy on SOP’s
• Track outcomes
• Identify barriers and develop solutions with program manager
• Conduct weeklong sessions with each food pantry in order to train/assist the volunteers
• Collect data to measure success of program
• Support the outreach team with no more than 2 events a month

Community Need Addressed

Create, teach and deliver trainings to respective representatives. Recruit, train and support volunteers who will support the efforts of the food pantries that delivers food across the Okanogan Counties.
