Tutor and create engaging opportunities for students at Brewster Elementary School as an Intermountain AmeriCorps member. Join an AmeriCorps team that is serving economically disadvantaged and academically struggling students in North Central Washington.

Service Activities

Intermountain Americorps members will provide low-income students in the Brewster School District with evidence-informed tutoring and other academic supports in literacy. Tutoring will occur one-on one and/or in small groups of up to four students at least 60 minutes weekly for 12 to 26 weeks, before, during, or after school and/or in summer.

Community Need Addressed

AmeriCorps members and the volunteers they recruit will provide low-income students and students with special or exceptional needs in K12 schools with evidence-informed tutoring and other academic supports in literacy and. Tutoring will occur one-on-one and/or in small groups of up to four students at least 60 minutes weekly for 12 to 26 weeks, before, during, or after school and/or in summer.

Position Outcomes

Members will support students in creating a strong academic foundation in literacy and math. Many North Central Washington students come from low-income or Spanish-speaking families and need extra support to overcome barriers. Members have the chance to develop enrichment activities to share their knowledge, passions, skills, and talents with students.
