Full Time Community Education Member

The MFS Community Education AmeriCorps member will serve within the MFS Financial Capabilities program area. The member will receive training on the CFPB's Your Money, Your Goals Toolkit and other aspects of facilitation and resource/referral. The member will then utilize that training to:

• Co-facilitate financial education workshops for families and individuals across MFS programs and sites.
• Support 1:1 financial coaching and education opportunities.
• Support school-based Financial Capability services and programs for students and families.
• Support resource and referral efforts for MFS families and clients at MFS Food Pantry Distributions and across all MFS programs.
• Work with other MFS AmeriCorps members and staff to create financial education opportunities across programs.
• Lead & Support site-specific projects and activities.

Service Activities

The MFS Financial Education AmeriCorps Member will:

• Develop and tailor financial education curriculum to different age groups and community needs;
• Deliver financial education workshops and coaching in a variety of settings to clients and volunteers;
• Deliver financial education workshops and coaching in a variety of settings to clients and volunteers;
• Coordinate with exiting MFS programs to assess financial education needs and natural connection points for services;
• Participate in planning and execution of regional Financial Empowerment Clinics;
• Promote MFS Financial Education and Asset Building programs;
• Recruit and Coordinate family and community volunteers;
• Lead and support site-specific projects and activities as defined in site-specific service descriptions

• Strengthening early childhood development and building youth success through collaboration and innovation…so that every child gets a good start in life and has the opportunity to grow into healthy, educated, productive, and engaged members of our community.

• Developing and promoting effective approaches to community-based health and wellness throughout the lifespan …so that people are equipped to play an active role in their well-being and societal costs for healthcare can be reduced.

• Advancing individual and family economic well-being…so that people in our community can live with dignity, security and purpose.

Position Outcomes

The Member will:

• Increase financial education learning for clients across MFS programs.
• Increase community volunteer support in the program.
