When I first heard of this job, it reminded me of a mission trip that I went on during the summer of my years in high school. For a week a group of high school and college aged students went to Brownsville, Texas and we would teach a Vacation Bible School course to the children there. It was such a meaningful experience for me because we made a huge difference in those children’s lives, and they made a difference in ours. The experience of working with children and helping them to learn and grow is so impactful. It allows me to feel hopeful for the future, because being responsible for helping the growth of the younger generations allows me to help make a difference in the biggest possible way. I want to serve not only to grow as a person, but to make a difference in the lives of the students and their families.
