Description

AFHA Heritage Program AmeriCorps serve at various sites supporting heritage and cultural heritage tourism initiatives throughout our region. Sites may include museums, landmarks commissions, historic sites, historical societies, and cultural organizations. Specific duties vary with site assignment, but are likely to include volunteer management, tourism product development, programming and events, archive and collections management, exhibit development, visitor services and docenting, public outreach and marketing including social media management, and/or historic resource management.

$1167 - $1167 monthly

Service hours count toward lifetime achievement for President's Volunteer Service Award. $5,930 Ed Award after successful completion.

Education Requirements

College Graduate

Desired Certifications or Qualifications

College degree in related field preferred. In some cases, relevant experience may substitute. Some positions are looking for public history or museum skills, for others communications skills may be as important.
