AFHA Community Development AmeriCorps serve in multiple positions with various organizations within our region. Typical organizations range from Development Authorities, Planning Commissions, Welcome Centers, and Main Street organizations. Typical service revolves around volunteer and event management, public outreach and education, asset mapping, and community revitalization/planning support.

Service hours count toward lifetime achievement for President's Volunteer Service Award. $5,930 Ed Award after successful completion.
Desired Certifications or Qualifications
College degree in related field highly desirable. Relevant experience can sometimes substitute. For community development positions, skills related to communications and working with people are important.
