• About Us
  The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence has been in existence for more than 40 years and has an established history of providing youth programming in partnership with the school district and community organizations. The Club has grown from 1 site to 14 sites. The capacity of children served has risen steadily in the last 40 years from 50 to 1,500 youth served daily. Overtime Boys & Girls Club has evolved and is shaped by participant feedback, evaluation outcomes, and best practices in the field. The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence has long maintained a rigorous schedule of meeting performance measures and tracing extensive data- behavior outcomes, attendance of individual children, education outcomes, demographic information and other key outcomes to measure our success or need for improvements.
  Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence also enjoys a strong, resilient partnership with the Lawrence Public School District and many community partners. Through communication and collaboration the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence is able to access specific academic data, teachers as resources and the support of principals. This relationship is vital to the success of the Club programs. Community partners also make up a large part of programming. The partners bring a wide variety of knowledge and expertise that the youth are able to benefit from. The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence mission includes the development of sustainability strategies in support of ongoing out of school programming for all Lawrence youth, especially those at risk. Boys & Girls Club board of directors and staff are committed to providing all Club members with a well rounded experience.
• Our Impact
  The mission and the objectives of Boys & Girls Club align with providing a safe place for Lawrence youth allows their parents the opportunity to work without having to worry about their children. The parents are able to work effectively and efficiently for their employers to increase economic development. The families are also able to invest the money they make from working back into the Lawrence economy. After school time is a precarious time for youth and teens. When Club members are in the safe environment of the Club they are not roaming alone in neighborhoods causing problems, or vandalism. And finally Boys & Girls Club prides itself in providing the best possible programs. From finding the right staff, to training them to always looking for ways to continue to be at the forefront of youth development, Boys & Girls Club is able to provide excellent service delivery for the youth and families of Lawrence.
